I awoke in a strange place.
My eyes adjusted to the darkness and I peered around the room. A faint light came in around the edges of the curtains and I recognized my surroundings: a hotel room.
The hum of the air conditioner reminded me I was not at home. Our central A/C is virtually silent. I rolled over in the bed to face my husband, who was snoring quietly, hopefully not reliving the 13-hour drive through the mountains! I could not see any digital clock so could only guess it was still night time. I snuggled back under the light covers and drifted back to sleep.
Some time later, we both woke up, discovering it was only 6 am local time in Abbotsford, BC, 7 am our time back home. We had lots of time to have coffee, showers and head down to the breakfast room of the Super 8. Walter had checked out the ferry times and we figured if we left the hotel by 9 am, we'd have plenty of time to line up at Horseshoe Bay to catch a ferry to Nanaimo.
Where are the Selke's heading this time?
Campbell River, on Vancouver Island, for a NAIM staff conference. We look forward to reconnecting with our fellow labourers in Christ, hearing uplifting messages and exploring the shores of the Pacific Ocean! God continues to give opportunities to travel and see new places. And we trust Him to continue His good work in us to grow us in the image of His Son.
Have a great week, family and friends. We'll keep you informed of our future adventures...
